What happens once I have booked in for a session?

Once you have made a booking with me, you will receive a confirmation email. You will then receive a second email with a link to complete my online Consent Form and Client Intake Form. These are for you to read, complete and sign before your initial session. If you don't have time or would rather not complete these yourself, we can complete them together during your initial session.

What does a session look like?

During your initial session, we will meet either face to face in my counselling room, or online. I will listen to what is happening for you and take the time to learn about you and what you would like to achieve from your counselling sessions. I will be led by you and what you would like to gain from your time with me.

This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other better, feel comfortable in the counselling space and identify your goals. I will talk to you about the different forms of therapy I offer (in office/online counselling or expressive therapies or walk and talk therapy) and together we will make a plan for you moving forward.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on the individual and the issues you are experiencing. It is usually recommended that you attend 4-6 regular sessions initially if you are wishing to address what is happening for you and start to make / see some positive changes in your life.

It usually takes time to "peel back the layers" and uncover and resolve the root cause of your issue. Sometimes, more sessions may be needed. However, if your situation is less complex, you may not require as many sessions. Some clients prefer to touch base once or twice a year or as required during more stressful times in their life.

How many sessions you attend will be led by you, and I will discuss this with you during our time together.

Cancellation
Policy

I know your time is valuable and mine is too. Out of respect for me and my other clients, I ask that you arrive on time for your session and provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or change your session time.

Cancellations or changes made within 24 hours of your appointment will incur a 50% appointment fee. Failure to attend the booked appointment will incur a 100% appointment fee. Cancellations can be made via a text to me on 0407 346 787.

Rebates / concessions

As a counsellor, unfortunately I am unable to offer clients any Medicare or Private Health rebates or concessions at this stage.

What do I need for walk and talk therapy?

All you need is comfortable clothing and shoes, hat, sunscreen and a bottle of water for drinking. Please note, this is not intended as exercise so your level of fitness is not important.
